PITTSBURGH, PA (March 17, 2026) – For 30 years, the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy has worked in partnership with the City of Pittsburgh to keep Pittsburgh’s parks thriving — enhancing, restoring, and stewarding the green spaces that serve as the heart of the city. Now, in celebration of this milestone anniversary, the Parks Conservancy is once again partnering with Commonplace Coffee to introduce a new limited-edition roast: Green Heart Blend.

Crafted to commemorate the Parks Conservancy’s 30th anniversary, the Green Heart Blend celebrates Pittsburgh’s parks as the city’s “green heart” — vibrant, resilient spaces that connect communities, inspire learning, and improve quality of life for all.

“For three decades, our city’s parks have been the backdrop for first steps, first dates, family traditions, and everyday moments of peace,” said Ross Chapman, Chief of Operations, Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy. “Green Heart Blend is a wonderful way to celebrate the role parks play in our lives while directly supporting the work to keep them thriving for the next 30 years.”

The Green Heart Blend continues a meaningful partnership that began in 2020, when the Parks Conservancy and Commonplace Coffee first collaborated during the COVID-19 pandemic. At a time when parks became essential sanctuaries for Pittsburghers, Commonplace created park-inspired blends that both celebrated these treasured spaces and generated proceeds to support their care.

Since then, the collaboration has featured beloved, park-inspired roasts honoring local green spaces across the city — each blend highlighting the character and spirit of a different park while supporting the mission of the Parks Conservancy.

With Green Heart Blend, the focus shifts from one park to the bigger picture: 30 years of impact across Pittsburgh’s entire park system.

“I wanted to keep this blend approachable, yet exciting for our customers, and I think this final offering walks this line extremely well,” explained Vikki Harris, Green Buyer, Commonplace Coffee. “Legacy was something that really stuck with me throughout the creation of this blend. For past collaborations with the Parks Conservancy, I have frequently used coffee from Luis Alberto Balladarez in Nicaragua; his coffees typically capture the essence of springtime for me - sweet, juicy, fruity and bright. For the other two components, I used coffees that are legacy offerings and profiles for Commonplace: Finca Concepción in Guatemala and Hulikere Estate in India.”  

Proceeds from every bag sold will directly support the Parks Conservancy’s work to:

• Invest in community park projects;
• Expand environmental education programs;
• Improve access and accessibility in neighborhood parks;
• Advance tree planting, habitat restoration, and sustainability initiatives.
