Named for Guatemala’s national tree, the Ceiba — in early Mayan and Mesoamerican cultures, the Ceiba symbolized the connection between land and sky. Perhaps it was also this cultural connection that influenced the coffee’s name, as it comes from the Huehuetenango Department, located in the Western highlands of Guatemala bordering Mexico. Thanks to the elevation and varied microclimates of this mountainous region, coffee from Huehuetenango is well known worldwide for its bright and crisp acidity. The Ceiba lot from Huehuetenango is a community coffee, investing in sustainable sourcing to benefit a large group of producers. Considered a Core Coffee by Ally, who works with sourcing partner Unitrade Coffee. Huehuetenango continues to recover after the leaf rust epidemic several years ago, but Unitrade’s support of producers has been crucial to keeping family farms in operation. Sourced from seven different regions in the Huehuetenango Department, we hope you enjoy the distinct profile created by the combined efforts of the producers in these regions.

Shipping Details
As we are striving to roast coffee in the best possible profile while also preserving freshness, we have a rhythm to our roasting schedule. Our roasting days are now Monday through Wednesday. We will make every effort to get your coffee out as soon as possible. It will be shipped using a common carrier to your door.

Orders under $50 will be charged $5 flat rate; over $50, shipping is free.
