Our latest decaf offering comes to us by way of Commonplace’s first origin trip and through efforts to cultivate lasting relationships with young producers. This coffee can be traced to one of the four farms owned by Jaime Figueroa Cantillo known as Samaria. This particular farm is tucked into the hillsides of Garzón, Huila, located between 1450 – 1650 meters above sea level. Jaime currently produces the big three varieties: Caturra, Castillo, and Colombia. In addition, he also grows Catimors and some newly planted Tabi, all of which he dries on raised beds under shade. The complex sweetness offered by this coffee really shines through, even after having undergone decaffeination via ethyl acetate. This is a coffee that can be appreciated by regular and decaf drinkers alike.
