PITTSBURGH, PA (October 7, 2026) – Commonplace Coffee is honored to unveil Commonplace Kitchen, a refreshed identity for Commonplace’s considerable food program. Commonplace Kitchen offers a diverse range of scratch-made baked goods, grab-and-go breakfasts, lunch items, and more that are available across all eight Commonplace Coffee cafe locations.
Commonplace Kitchen approaches their food program with the same ethos that defines Commonplace’s coffee program: careful curation of exceptional and approachable offerings that bring people together, and belief in the power of simple, everyday rituals. Commonplace is delighted to embark on this exploration and expanded investment into their food program’s continued success and growth.
Commonplace Kitchen’s Manager, Natalie Prunty, shares, "In the process of re-introducing our food program as Commonplace Kitchen, I am so excited that we will properly highlight the full scope of offerings that our team works so hard to create and deliver to our community each week. Yes, we make so many delicious baked goods that many of our guests know and love, and we will continue to offer them. But by rebranding as Commonplace Kitchen, we get to further highlight the delicious breakfast and lunch offerings that we've been cooking for many years."
In line with this announcement, Commonplace Kitchen will embark on regular sampling of several core menu items across all Commonplace Coffee cafe locations beginning today (Wednesday, October 7) and concluding on Sunday, November 1. Every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday during this period, guests across Commonplace Coffee cafe locations can enjoy samples of select core Commonplace Kitchen food offerings twice a day, including their scratch-made coffeecake, chocolate chip cookies, breakfast burritos, breakfast sandwiches, and more. This revitalized approach to Commonplace’s food program will not only expand the types of engagement opportunities available to cafe guests in the months and years to come, but broaden their storytelling opportunities to provide greater insight into the craft and care that goes into the food items sold at Commonplace Coffee cafes.
The majority of Commonplace Kitchen’s commercial kitchen and baking operations are currently housed at Commonplace Coffee’s Shadyside cafe, located at 5743 Walnut Street, which opened for business earlier this summer. Commonplace Kitchen also utilizes their original production space in Shelocta, Pennsylvania, which first opened in 2015 and continues to support the overarching success of their food program.
Commonplace Kitchen is already in full operation, with offerings available to the public across Commonplace Coffee cafe locations.
