Each year, we develop our Summer Solstice Series to be perfectly refreshing for sipping over ice on a hot summer day. This year’s blend features two Ethiopian coffees.
Dimtu: A natural processed coffee from Guji. Unlike many natural processed coffees, Dimtu presents with high florality and acidity but very little booziness.
Nano Challa: Located a few hundred miles northwest of Dimtu, the Nano Challa Cooperative is world-renowned for their high-quality washed coffee and numerous top finishes in cup competitions.
What sets this blend apart from versions in previous years? Commonplace Coffee Head Roaster Vicky Harris tells us that Nano Challa is the lightest roasted coffee we’ve offered this year.
To determine which percentages of Nano Challa and Dimtu to use in this year’s blend, the roasting team cupped four different blend combinations. Vicky says, “Of the blends we cupped, we selected this one because it was the most refreshing and punchy – perfect for a seasonal blend.”
