INDIANA, PA (July 2, 2020) – Commonplace Coffee recently announced it will open in a new and larger cafe at Indiana Regional Medical Center (IRMC), moving out of the kiosk space it occupied for over a decade and into the former IRMC Pantry space, located just off of the main lobby. A grand opening of the new cafe is planned for mid-July, after a brief closure of the kiosk due to safety concerns and restrictions placed on businesses due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“A cup of Commonplace Coffee has been an important part of the daily routine for IRMC staff and visitors for years,” said Jim Kinneer, PhD, Chief Human Resources Officer for IRMC. “The re-opening and expansion of Commonplace Coffee at IRMC is another welcomed sign of getting back to normal. It’s like seeing an old friend after a long absence.”
Commonplace Coffee at IRMC will be open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Menu items will include espresso drinks, coffee, tea, cold brew and milkshakes. An expanded food menu will include breakfast burritos; grilled cheese and tuna melts; quiche; hand pies; and artisan pastries, like cookies muffins, scones and bisciotti.
“We’re very happy about our move into the new space. It will allow us to offer more drink options, and we’re excited to introduce an expanded food menu,” said Dawn McCracken, Manager of the Commonplace Coffee Cafe at IRMC. “We want our new space to provide a place where people can come to experience a great cup of coffee and maybe a bite to eat, but also a also a warm welcome – even if it’s just for a few minutes while they’ve stepped away from their work area or their loved one being cared for at IRMC.”
The Auxiliary Gift Shop will continue to operate in its existing space once it is able to resume operations, which have been temporarily suspended during the pandemic.
