PITTSBURGH, PA (March 28, 2023) – Commonplace Coffee recently announced the return of Coffee & Cars, a monthly event series co-hosted by Obscure Cars Daily that kicks off Saturday, April 1, from 9am-1pm. This year’s series features a new location – the 3M parking lot of Rockwell Park – located across the street from their newest cafe at 7514 Thomas Boulevard, Pittsburgh, PA 15206. The monthly series features free coffee and a rotating cast of food trucks. It runs the first Saturday of each month, April through November (excluding October). More details about each event can be found online at Commonplace Coffee’s event calendar: commonplacecoffee.com/events
This event series celebrates the intersection of community, coffee, and cars in Pittsburgh. Jon Morris of Obscure Cars Daily shares, “All cars are welcome! Although we love the weird stuff, we also want to find a place for everyone and anyone who wants to be part of Coffee & Cars.” He adds that his favorite car from last year was “Mike Blaze’s PPG Olds Omega pace car. It’s the only one of its kind ever built and a true piece of Pittsburgh history that was believed to have been destroyed decades ago, and it left everyone surprised when it rolled up to our September meet. Even after the event, a huge amount of people reached out online to confirm whether or not it was even real. It’s just really cool that we’re able to provide a spotlight for rare rides like that.”
For their kick-off event, Commonplace Coffee will provide complimentary espresso-based beverages made in 1994 Mitsubishi Montero (while supplies last). Additional beverages available for purchase at their Rockwell Park cafe.
Of the upcoming series, Commonplace Coffee Service Manager Mitchell Thomas adds, “I’m most excited for a full season of partnership with OCD, the new venue, and getting to serve espresso out the back of my Montero again.” He adds, “The previous location was great, but I found a space that is larger and a stone’s throw from our newest retail cafe.”
Commonplace Coffee and Obscure Cars Daily invites local car, truck, and motorcycle enthusiasts to join them for a casual gathering over coffee.
