PITTSBURGH, PA (June 21, 2021) – Commonplace Coffee and Local Roots Landscaping recently launched a collaborative Neighborhood Blend coffee with 100 percent of proceeds benefiting Pittsburgh Action Against Rape (PAAR) and the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy. The limited edition coffee is available for purchase at all Commonplace Coffee shops and online at commonplacecoffee.com through July 6.
“Our mission is ‘cultivating beautiful communities in Pittsburgh from the outside in,’ and our driving force as a company is to make Pittsburgh a better place to live, interact, and thrive. We are a landscaping company, but we want to contribute more to our communities than outdoor aesthetics alone,” said Patrick Murray, Owner of Local Roots Landscaping. “Regularly giving back through charitable contributions of our time, talent, and resources has been important to us since we began our business seven years ago. It’s our ethos, and we’re so excited to partner with Commonplace Coffee on this special blend to support two very special organizations.”
The Western Pennsylvania Conservancy has been dedicated to protecting and restoring the region’s exceptional natural places since 1932. With a focus on making a difference in the region’s water, land and life, they do this work for the wildlife and people who call Western Pennsylvania home. Pittsburgh Action Against Rape is one of the oldest rape crisis centers in the country. PAAR has provided services to Allegheny County for more than 47 years. PAAR is dedicated to assisting victims of sexual abuse and ending sexual violence in our community with experienced, trained counselors and advocates who provide services that are completely confidential, and just a phone call away: 1-866-363-7273. Funds will be divided evenly between The Western Pennsylvania Conservancy and the PAAR.
“We are honored to partner with Local Roots for a second time to release such a meaningful blend that will allow us to make a significant impact on our community” said Dave Smallhoover, Commonplace’s Roasting Operations Manager. “This is a partnership born out of the Local Roots team members becoming regulars at our Point Breeze location. It’s a perfect example of community and how powerful cafe conversations can be!”
