We’re incredibly excited to bring back Winter: Solstice Series for its third year in our lineup! Just like a well-loved winter tradition, such as sledding or visiting the holiday market, creating and sharing this coffee with you has become a special part of our year.
When creating these limited-time blends, we want seasonality to shine. This year’s blend components will look similar to last year’s, reflecting our desire to create long-term purchasing relationships with producers.
The Mexican component, a lot from the Teojomulco farmers, is one of those returning coffees. This Pluma Hidalgo variety offers a nuanced, smooth body layered with dried fruit and brown sugar notes, reminiscent of holiday fruit cake. To build on that base sweetness while maintaining the underlying fruit flavors, we chose two Ethiopian offerings. Mensur Abahika’s natural-processed coffee and Gomoro’s washed-processed coffee create a fuller body and showcase what detail-oriented processing can add.
