Delivery Driver

Summary

The Delivery Driver at Commonplace Coffee is responsible for safely, accurately, and efficiently making deliveries to Commonplace Coffee Cafes, wholesale customers, and commercial customers. The Delivery Driver will deliver coffee and allied products with craft and care that represents Commonplace Coffee’s commitment to honoring the coffee supply chain and satisfying our consumers’ needs. They will work closely with our Fulfillment and Roasting Teams to ensure the right products are delivered on the appropriate routes. The Delivery Driver will represent Commonplace Coffee’s values and serve as one of the faces of Commonplace Coffee when delivering products. They must be detail-oriented, organized, and have a clean driving record. This role is intended to be 16-20 hours per week with an expectation of working Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 6am-12pm.

Essential Functions

Pack and deliver products to Commonplace Coffee cafes and wholesale clients using Commonplace’s fleet of vehicles.
Represent the mission and values of Commonplace Coffee when interacting with wholesale clients and communicate feedback to the Warehouse & Fulfillment Manager.
Obey all traffic laws and constantly stay alert while driving.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment inside of the vehicles.
Assist with unpacking and route feedback after concluding delivery routes.
Communicate and properly record maintenance needs for equipment and vehicles.
Communicate wholesale client feedback to Warehouse & Fulfillment Manager.
Cultivate and promote the culture and values of Commonplace Coffee.
Develop strong and successful working relationships with co-workers and promote a spirit of community and teamwork.

Qualifications

Clean driving record and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Records check.
Must be organized and detail-oriented.
Written and oral communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Consistent demonstration of integrity and reliability.
Ability to solve complex problems with multiple variables.
Must work well on a team.

Physical Demands

Sitting and driving - must be able to sit and drive for long periods of time in a vehicle
Perform repetitive tasks - must be able to complete repetitive motions with the hands, wrists, and forearms when driving and lifting.
Oral communication – must be able to clearly and effectively communicate with team members.
Carry weight, lift – must be able to lift up to 30 pounds frequently and team lift up to 155 pounds occasionally.

Work environment

Work is performed at Commonplace Coffee Headquarters/Roastery, on the road, and in the field
The work environment can be noisy.
Most of the work is performed alone though will involve high amounts of customer interaction for short periods of time.
