Teojomulco features coffee produced by 30 families, under the supervision of Señor Hildilberto Roman. This lot was produced in Sierra Sur, Oaxaca, one of Mexico’s most remote coffee-growing regions. Most area residents work on small farms and speak an indigenous Mesoamerican language. These factors mean that coffee exported from Sierra Sur is uncommon. However, given the incredible quality of this coffee, producers and exporters alike have developed creative solutions to bring it to specialty coffee markets around the world. Teojomulco initially caught the attention of exporter UNTAO. After four years of working together, UNTAO introduced the producers to our importing partner, Osito Coffee.
This is our third time purchasing Teojomulco. We love being able to highlight an uncommon growing region, a unique group of farmers, and the clean, sweet coffee they produce.
