Raised beds

This is the fifth year we’ve purchased multiple coffees from producer Luis Alberto Balladarez. Un Regalo de Dios, meaning “A Gift from God,” is Luis’ pride and joy. Located in a lush forest protected on three sides by high mountains, the microclimate at this farm is nothing short of a miracle. The loose, sandy soil with rich humus, optimal yearly rainfall, diverse ecosystem of fauna and flora, and abundant trees to provide shade result in extraordinary coffee. Luis is a highly decorated coffee producer as well, having achieved two first place finishes in Nicaragua’s Cup of Excellence Competition in 2018 and 2020 and multiple top ten placements going back to 2017.

We selected this coffee for its immense quality. Our roasting team is incredibly excited to feature such a complex coffee in the lineup, as it received our highest ever internal SCA cupping score of 89.25. This coffee is incredibly sweet and tangy and has a vivid and diverse flavor profile.

FAQs

Shipping Information

We operate Monday-Friday and strive to ship your order within 2 business days of the order or renewal date (not including weekends.) Your order will be shipped by UPS or USPS to your door. You will receive a tracking notification when your order ships.

Roasting Information

All coffee is roasted fresh to order on our Loring S35 Kestrel Coffee Roaster. All bags are stamped with the roast date, and we think coffee tastes best if consumed within 2-4 weeks. However, if left whole bean and stored in a cool, dry place away from sunlight, the coffee can remain enjoyable for up to 4-6 months, depending on the bag or container. Most of our coffee is roasted to a medium or light/medium roast level, except for All Day, which is our staple dark roast offering.

How do I purchase this as a gift?

You can include a note when adding the product to your cart (or by emailing our team) to request that certain coffees be excluded.
