This is our fourth year sourcing coffee from producer Luis Alberto Balladarez. This year, we’ll have two offerings from his farm, La Bendición. Available first is a honey processed Pacamara, a coffee variety known for its large bean size and potential for very high quality. This coffee was processed at Beneficio Las Segovias, a facility managed by Luis and his son. Their coffee mill has produced some of the best coffees in Nicaragua, including many that have won the prestigious Cup of Excellence award. Luis’ coffees have placed 6th in 2023, 3rd in 2022, 6th in 2021, 1st in 2020, 1st and 5th in 2018, and 3rd and 13th in 2017.
We chose this coffee to highlight the amazing output from Luis and his farms in Nicaragua. This coffee presents with juicy mouthfeel and a bright, citric acidity. We taste red fruit notes ranging from apple to plum.
