This is our 5th year offering Mensur Abahika’s coffee. Mensur is a key member of the Tokuma Farmer Group (TFG). This Western Ethiopian collective works together to market their coffees and share industry knowledge. Recently, Ethiopian laws on exporting and marketing coffee have relaxed. With these changes, the TFG announced that their producers have begun processing washed coffees for the first time! Historically, Ethiopian washed coffee has been produced at private washing stations, which often combine many farmers’ coffees into a single large lot. Washed Ethiopian coffees from a single producers and small groups are becoming more common, and we can’t wait to share this unique treat with you.
We selected this coffee to support Mensur Abahika’s foray into washed coffee production. Additionally, we are proud to work with longtime collaborators and exporters Osito Coffee on this release. We fell in love with this coffee during a tasting with Osito Coffee at the Specialty Coffee Association expo in Chicago. This coffee has every attribute you would hope to taste in a washed Ethiopian coffee; it is clean, bright, fruity, and refreshing.
FAQs
Shipping Information
We operate Monday-Friday and strive to ship your order within 2 business days of the order or renewal date (not including weekends.) Your order will be shipped by UPS or USPS to your door. You will receive a tracking notification when your order ships.
Roasting Information
All coffee is roasted fresh to order on our Loring S35 Kestrel Coffee Roaster. All bags are stamped with the roast date, and we think coffee tastes best if consumed within 2-4 weeks. However, if left whole bean and stored in a cool, dry place away from sunlight, the coffee can remain enjoyable for up to 4-6 months, depending on the bag or container. Most of our coffee is roasted to a medium or light/medium roast level, except for All Day, which is our staple dark roast offering.
How do I purchase this as a gift?
