DONATION BLEND
BLEND DESIGN:
Unique yet cozy; created to perform well as both espresso and drip coffee
AVAILABLE SINCE 2024
Our newest blend is barista-developed, meaning a staff member outside of our roasting team spearheaded its creation. Service Technician Justin Hayhurst contributed his extensive coffee knowledge and chose to partner with Grow Pittsburgh on this project as a nod to his work in gardening and horticulture.
Proceeds benefit Grow Pittsburgh, which supports over 40,000 Allegheny county residents in growing and sharing fresh local produce. Between their three urban farms and over 100 community and school gardens, Grow Pittsburgh helps to produce and share over 70,000 pounds of food annually.
Cultivar Blend also marks our first ever release of a Robusta coffee. Within the specialty coffee industry, Robusta has long been regarded as inferior in quality to Arabica. But with a changing climate, some producers are cultivating the hardier Robusta species with the same level of care typically given to Arabica. This blend features a Robusta from Hulikere Estate in India. It is balanced by in India. It is balanced by Nesru Aba Nura, a sweet, complex, and fruity Arabica from Ethiopia. Together, these coffees create a completely unique profile never before seen in our lineup. This coffee is cozy, easy to drink, engaging, and a stepping stone for specialty coffee drinkers to enjoy Robusta.
FAQs
Shipping Information
We operate Monday-Friday and strive to ship your order within 2 business days of the order or renewal date (not including weekends.) Your order will be shipped by UPS or USPS to your door. You will receive a tracking notification when your order ships.
Roasting Information
All coffee is roasted fresh to order on our Loring S35 Kestrel Coffee Roaster. All bags are stamped with the roast date, and we think coffee tastes best if consumed within 2-4 weeks. However, if left whole bean and stored in a cool, dry place away from sunlight, the coffee can remain enjoyable for up to 4-6 months, depending on the bag or container. Most of our coffee is roasted to a medium or light/medium roast level, except for All Day, which is our staple dark roast offering.
